SaguaroPromoGirls-82-Quick Preset_3146x3214Our fabulous hostess, Rosemary Galore, will be taking the stage as the emcee and stand-up comedian. She will introduce the other performers, who will each showcase two numbers. Rosemary will also perform at least one number. Additionally, there will be a break in the middle of the show to acknowledge special occasions and celebrations.

Performances

The highlight of a drag queen show is the

performance of popular songs by the drag queens.

They will lip-sync to the lyrics while dancing energetically and engaging the audience with provocative displays

The performances are known for their extravagant costumes, elaborate makeup, and larger-than-life wigs.

The dance routines often draw inspiration from the ballroom tradition, which was popularized by Madonna's hit song "Vogue."

During the show, the queens will interact with the audience, moving around the room and spending time at each table. The performance is highly interactive and encourages audience participation.

Tipping

It is customary to tip the queens with dollar bills if you enjoy their performance. Larger tips are often given for exceptional costumes, dancing, or overall appearance.

The more you tip, the more time the queens are likely to spend with you. However, please note that tipping the queens at PS drag brunch is entirely optional.

Adult Themes

Our drag show features adult content, both in simulated acts and spoken language, including profanity.

This is a fundamental aspect of drag culture, often referred to as "shade." Shade is the art of playfully insulting others without malice, resulting in comedic effect. Successful drag queens excel at delivering shade in a way that makes the target laugh along with the joke, sometimes unaware of the intended insult.

The use of profanity is prevalent in drag shows, but it is uniquely molded to fit the distinctive style of drag queen culture. For example, when a drag queen calls another "bitch," it is not meant as an insult but rather as a term of endearment, similar to saying "sister."

Comedy

Drag queens strive to entertain through both spoken and acted performances. You are encouraged to laugh at the playful banter between the queens and enjoy their comedic antics. In many ways, drag can be seen as a modern form of clowning, and some queens even consider themselves clowns.

Consent

Certain acts performed during a drag show may be shocking to some audience members. For example, you may witness queens touching the breasts of a willing participant or simulating penetration while sitting on a guest's lap. These actions are intentionally designed to provoke a reaction from the audience. However, be aware that the queens have sought consent, either beforehand or during the performance, for these acts. They are skilled at ensuring they have permission without being seen asking for it. Nonetheless, consent will have been given. Also, the queens are trained to gauge the comfort level of the audience and will generally only go so far as the guest’s comfort level permits.

Summary

The purpose of a drag show is to entertain and occasionally shock the audience. A great show will make you feel a range of emotions.

Remember everyone present is there for the same reason, and our show provides a judgment-free zone. Feel free to let loose, laugh, and behave in ways that may be out of the ordinary for your everyday life.
